Meet Tony and Christine

Hi! We are Tony and Christine. We have lived in Anchorage since 2016. Tony is Iñupiaq from Atqasuk, Alaska and has lived in the state his entire life. Christine lived in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, and South Carolina before moving to Atqasuk to teach, which is where she and Tony met. In fact, Tony was the school employee that picked her up from the airport and took her to teacher housing that first time she landed in Atqasuk! We had no idea then about the life we'd build together. Tony works as an auto mechanic and Christine works for a tribal early childhood program.

We love to travel with friends and family. Christine's parents come at least once a year from South Carolina and we use it as an excuse to play home-state tourists. We also try to travel every year or two with Christine's siblings, sister-in-law, and nephews. Sometimes Tony's sister, who is adopted, comes along with us. We're planning a trip with the whole family here in Alaska this summer and one to Niagra Falls for next summer. Tony loves to spend time fishing in all seasons and hunting when he can. We plan to do family trips to visit his siblings in Atqasuk and get the best of village life as well as traveling with them. Last year, we went with several of Tony's siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins to Hawaii for his brother's wedding! We also have family friends that have become family over the years that we do things with regularly. We also have two corgis, Winston (5) and Zelda (2), that come on trips with us around the state. They're looking forward to sharing snacks with their new sibling.

This will be our first child, but we are hoping to build a little family through adoption to give the same feeling of love and family that we both had growing up. We can't wait to get to know you!
