Greetings! We are Rob and Ruth. We have lived in the Mat Su valley for the past 3 years and have been in Alaska for the past 7 years. Rob is originally from Indiana and Ruth grew up between the Midwest and Hispanic countries. We both work in health care and met when working together in the ER in Indiana. We became friends but didn’t decide to start dating until Rob made the decision to move to Alaska.

We love about any activity that takes us outside: hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, snowmachining, etc. Ruth just completed her certification for scuba, so now we both can add exploring under the water as well. We love to travel and experience other cultures. Ruth grew up as a missionary kid in Mexico and Bolivia, and Rob has always had a heart for travel and exploring. We take any opportunity we can to go other places and experience the culture with the locals.

Our home is usually active. We have 2 energetic black labs who love to play. We often have friends or family stopping in at the house and ourselves are usually involved in learning a new skill. Ruth knits and crafts; she is currently trying to figure out sewing (more than just hemming pants). Rob has many hobbies, but lately has been spending a lot of time on home improvement projects. We just completed remodeling our master bathroom and are contemplating what to start next.

We do not have children of our own, but both have always loved working with kids. We appreciate their energy, questions, and creativity and cannot wait to watch our child grow. Our hope is to be nurturing through all of life’s challenges and provide the child with stability and opportunities to safely explore life with the goal of preparing them to be adults.
