Hi!  We’re Shannon, Kevin, and Elias and we are lifelong Alaskans. We were blessed to welcome Elias into our family five years ago through adoption. We are raising him in the heart of the Eagle River valley where Shannon grew up, and we frequently travel to visit Kevin’s friends and family in Southeast Alaska. Our home is on a wild acre and a half with a close-knit community of neighbors who look out for each other. Shannon and Kevin both grew up with siblings and enjoy the lifelong connection that provides. Elias is excited to be a big brother!

As a family, we are a blend of Korean, Irish, Norwegian, and Inupiaq. We celebrate our diversity and embrace the traditions of each culture. We find joy in exploring the world with Elias – he has already visited seven countries! Our love for travel is a significant part of our family life, along with our shared interests in music, crafts, construction projects, and imaginary worlds.

Shannon is a non-profit fundraiser, and Kevin is a project manager and technical support professional. Elias is currently thriving in kindergarten. We are all actively involved in the Three Barons Renaissance Fair, where we share our love for costumes, silliness, and make-believe.

We have a growing relationship with Elias’s birth family and see them a few times a year, as well as sharing photos and stories with them throughout the year on a private Facebook group. We know that as we grow this extended family, Elias will have the love and support of so many, and this is what we also want to give to his sibling.
