Meet Jeffrey and Tanna
We are Tanna and Jeff, and we live in Juneau, Alaska on the lands of the Tlingit, Haida and Tshimsian people. We have been together for about 10 years, and got married a little over 2 years ago on Jeff’s grandparent’s anniversary. Tanna grew up in Alaska and loves spending time with her mom, aunt and uncle, cousin, sister, nephews and friends. Jeff came to Alaska as a teacher and lived for three years in Tuntutuliak before moving to Juneau and meeting Tanna. Jeff is from a large, tight-knit, Italian-American family in Cleveland, Ohio.
Our happy place is sitting around the living room or a table with friends and family, sharing food, memories and laughter. Jeff loves making pasta, and luckily Tanna loves to eat all the shapes and sauces he creates. We both love to fish, camp and hike, listen to music, dance, and create. Tanna is a knitter and an artist/art teacher in her free time, and works in marketing and graphic design, and Jeff works for a local kelp-based food company and still freelances to stay connected to education. We both volunteer on the boards of local non-profits here in Juneau.
We both love to travel and learn about different cultures. Tanna lived in Venezuela as an exchange student and speaks ok Spanish. Jeff immersed himself in Yupik culture for the three years he lived in the YK-Delta, picking up Yungtun words and phrases along the way. Jeff is kind and patient, he cares deeply about his community and learning about the people around him. Tanna is creative, fun-loving, energetic and loves connecting people together.
Together we have had so many adventures, traveling the world and Alaska, learning about the animals and plants around us (we love birds and whales, picking berries and tidepooling), making pasta with Jeff’s family, selling knits, camping in tents, trying new things, and meeting new people. We are so excited to welcome a child to share in these adventures with us and we think adoption is the perfect way to grow our family.
